1 12th January National Youth's Day/Vivekananda Janma Jayanti The Day is observed in commemoration of Birthday of Swami Vivekananda, the iconic Youth great personality of India. The day is usually observed by Ram Krishna Mission Society. School Education Department only allow students for the programme as per requirement of the organizer.
2 21st January Statehood Day Tripura has attained the status of full pledged State on 21st January, 1972. To mark this glorious day, Statehood Day is observed every year in a befitting manner. Usually, the programme is organized by the Nodal department i.e. ICA Department. School Education Department extends logistic supports and have direct involvement in the programme. Department also allow students & teachers for the programme.
3 19th January Kokborok Day It is observed to honour the major tribal language of the State, Kokborok. It is organized by the Kokborok & Other Minority Languages Department in collaboration with ICA and School Education Department School Education Department allow teachers and students for the programme as per requirement of the organizer.
4 25th January Cultural Programme A colourful cultural programme is organized by the School Education Department on the eve of Republic Day. This is organized as per instruction of the District Administration. Students and teachers participate in the Programme.
5 26th January Republic Day The Day is observed particularly by the District Administration to mark the golden moment of enacting the Constitution of India. School Education Department has direct involvement in this programme. A huge number of students participate in the cultural programme organized on the day.
6 21st February International Matri Bhasa Diwas International Matri Bhasa Diwas is observed jointly by School Education, ICA Department and Bangladesh Assistant High Commission, Agartala. Colourful rally, cultural programme are organized. Students and teachers participate in the Programme. Hon’ble Ministers and dignitaries grace the programme.
7 8th / 9th May Rabindra Jayanti This is one of the biggest programmes organized by School Education Department on 25th Baishakh, The Birthday of Rabindranath Tagore who had enormous contribution in the field of education, literature, social reforms and freedom movement. A central programme is organized in which Hon’ble Ministers and dignitaries remain present as guests. Rabindra Purasakar is awarded to a renowned person on the Day. Students and teachers participate in the Programme.
8 25th / 26th May Nazrul Janma Jayanti This is one of the important programmes organized by School Education Department to mark the birthday of the revolutionary poet who had contribution in the field of education, literature, social reforms and freedom movement. A central programme is organized in which Hon’ble Ministers and dignitaries remain present as guests.
Nazrul Nritya / Nazrul Sangeet Talent Purasakar (alternatively) is awarded to students through competition on the Day.
Students and teachers participate in the Programme.
9 14th August Sukanta Jayanti Sukanta Bhattacharjee was a young poet of Bengal who contributed a lot in the field of literature within a very short life span. His birthday is observed every year on 14th August. A central programme is organized in which Hon’ble Ministers and dignitaries remain present as guests. Students and teachers participate in the Programme.
10 15th August Independence Day The Day is observed particularly by the District Administration to mark the golden moment of Independence of India. School Education Department has direct involvement in this programme. A huge number of students participate in the cultural programme organized on the day.
11 5th September Teachers' Day This is observed in honour of the first Vice President of India, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. It is the main programme of School Education department which is observed in colourful way. A central programme is organized in which Hon’ble Ministers and dignitaries remain present as guests. Renowned teachers of school and colleges and eminent persons are awarded on the day for their contribution in the field of education, social welfare etc. -
12 26th September Ishwar Ch. Vidyasagar Jamna Jayanti Ishwar Ch. Vidyasagar was a famous social reformer in the 19th century. He introduced widow re-marriage, stopped Satidaha Pratha and contributed a lot in the field of women education. It is organized jointly by the ICA and School Education Department. A central programme is organized in which Hon’ble Ministers and dignitaries remain present as guests. School Education Department extends logistic supports and have direct involvement in the programme. Department also allow students & teachers for the programme.
13 2nd October Celebration of Mahatma Gandhi on 2nd October The day is celebrated in Honour of the Father of Nation, M.K. Gandhi who had enormous contribution in the field of freedom movement, social reforms and education. It is organized jointly by the ICA and School Education Department. A central programme is organized in which Hon’ble Ministers and dignitaries remain present as guests. School Education Department extends logistic supports and have direct involvement in the programme. Department also allow students & teachers for the programme.
14 28th October Bhagini Nivedita Janma Jaynati Bhagini Nivedita was a pioneer in girls' education and provided health services to the poor. She was a co-worker of Swami Vivekananda who worked in India by choice. The programme is not organized regularly, only organized, as per decision of the State Government. School Education Department only allow students for the programme.
15 14th November Children's Day Children's day is celebrated on November 14, on the birth anniversary of Jawaharlal Nehru, first Prime Minister of India. He had endless love & affection for children. The day is observed in colourful manner involving the children. A central programme is organized in which Hon'ble Ministers and dignitaries remain present as guests. Students and teachers participate in the Programme.
