Language Development

SCERT is also working for Development of Tribal and Minority Languages of Tripura. For this purpose Advisory Committees for Development of Kokborok, Chakma, Halamkuki, Mog, Bishnupriya Manipuri and Manipuri languages have been constituted. 
Kokborok is a recognized State Language. It has been recognized as official language from 19.1.1979. 
A 10 Day Workshop for review of Kokborok Text Books from classes I to VIII was organized w.e.f. 9th to 18th June, 2008. The same was printed and published. The TLC under SCERT is also conducting an Adult Education Centre for teaching of Kokborok language on 6 months certificate course at UK Academy, Agartala. 

Bishnupriya Manipuri Language
Bishnupriya Manipuri Language is being taught as a subject in 36 (thirty six) schools in Tripura from classes I to V. 
A 7-day Workshop on review of Bishnupriya Manipuri text books has been organized by SCERT. 
Manipuri Language is being taught as a subject in 21(twenty one) schools in Tripura from classes I to V. 

A -7 Day Orientation Programme for Manipuri teachers was organized from 28th July to 3rd August, 2008 at SCERT, Agartala. 
Chakma language
All Chakma text books from classes I to IV have been prepared and ready for publication very soon. 

Halam Kuki Language
Text Books for classes I to IV are being prepared and ready for publication.
